We are reaching out to those who feel frustrated, exhausted, or resigned in their current situations. The engineering managers who saw the untapped potential of their team without a solution to unlock it. The ones who are willing to try new things because nothing out there makes sense. We’re calling the early adopters, the bold, those who dare to challenge the status quo.

We’ve been in the trenches like you, trying to tame the chaos and realized, there’s a another way to do it, a better way.

There is a better way

I know first hand how difficult software engineering can be, riddled with burnouts, rage quits and numb detachment from work.

We wanted to do something about it but we also didn't want to be just another echo to what is an already very noisy field. We wanted to cater to those who, like us, can't find a solution that works for them.

Sometimes it's better to be different than it is to be better.

We have set out to change project management meaningfully. To find a way that focuses on keeping people in flow by taming chaos for them. To create a purpose-built piece of software, inspired by the agile manifesto, that puts people back in control.

Happiness matters

This one is gonna feel like a stretch but please hear me out.

Ask yourself, what happens when your engineering team is happy at their job? Not happy because of free lunches catered to them, or the monthly party at some fancy place… Happy because you’re feeding their passion, because they can focus on what they love.

I've learned as a manager that when you do something you love, you do it well. But this is not the only benefit:

  • Less stress drives creativity and innovation
  • Happiness promotes high functioning long-term teams
  • Happy employees are more engaged

There are worse things in life than wishing for the happiness of your employees.

So, how do we fix what’s wrong with project engineering management? While there’s a long list of things to address, we started with a big one: Deadlines

No Deadlines

TwoWeeks has no deadlines, none, zero.

The concept of deadlines seems sound until you realize how it’s being executed in the software industry.

We’ve seen estimates turn into deadlines, PMs deciding teams can do the work in less time so their Gantt chart looks better. And how often are we able to reach deadlines? How often are we able to reach them without stress?

If something is unreliable and causes pain, why not get rid of it? So we did. And replaced it with something better.

Delivery dates you can trust

What if instead of deadlines you were to get delivery dates? Not arbitrary delivery dates you put on tickets without being able to consider anything else. Rather, derived delivery dates that take into consideration all your other work, your colleagues schedules for dependency management alongside the alignment of work to organizational priorities.

Instead of due dates that are constantly clashing with what is feasible, what if you had accurate delivery dates based on capacity management and priorities that also handled change automatically? You’d be able to see what’s actually possible, see what’s actually happening, and make better decisions.

Why you should not join us (yet)

As with anything new, Here Be Dragons and bugs. One of those is literal, the other figurative. We’re only looking for early adopters at the moment, people who are ready to take the leap and see their world transformed. You should be ready for some new ways of working.

You should also know that we don’t have great documentation just yet (we’re working on that), we haven’t worked out a fancy RBAC scheme, or received a SOC2 certification so if these are requirements for you, we hope we’ll meet again at a later date.

We also move fast and push updates daily, and while we aren’t reckless and we do that with a lot of safety nets in place, we can’t guarantee a 99.99% SLA at this time.

What we can guarantee is that we will walk with our early adopters. We’re dedicated to making this work for everyone who wants to try it and are prepared to jump into the trenches with you to help create a better world.

Why you should join us

We’re here to do the right thing. We want to fix this problem so badly, we spent years creating something to do just that. And if you’re ready to come along with us and try different things, then we’re likely a good candidate for you.

We listen to our customers and as an early adopter you’ll get a direct channel to communicate with us. We’ve been using our own software for a long time now, it is sound but as I stated earlier, Here Be Dragons, you should be aware of that but we’ll be available every step of the way.

Finally, if you're not satisfied with TwoWeeks, we’ll give you the option to download your data to help you migrate to a different platform.
